The number one tip I can offer as a Skin Therapist is this: the best products to use are the ones you’ll use consistently.
It goes without saying, make sure they're good for you and gentle on your skin, but ultimately the best products are the ones you'll buy over and over again. Products that are sustainable to repurchase and easy for you to regularly use.
Keep up a consistent routine for months, even years and that’s when you'll see a difference! Your skin will be the healthiest it's ever been.
When creating the Seanna's Suggestions Beauty Box, I went back to the products I have reached for over and over again, both for me and my clients. You’re sure to find your favourites in this line up and for only $95 for the box you can’t go wrong!
Graydon Skin Stuff Face + Eye Ceramide Cream
Graydon’s Skin Stuff is my number one recommended product for virtually all skin types. It’s a medium-weight, unscented creamy moisturizer that absorbs easily and keeps skin hydrated all day. A blend of nourishing rosehip seed, evening primrose, and pomegranate oils combined with ceramides helps reinforce the skin’s barrier so that over time your skin is healthier and more resilient to moisture loss. In other words, you’ll find you need less moisturizer in the long run!
Bonus: Skin Stuff doubles as a hydrating eye cream, safe to use under the eyes and on the upper lids.
Consonant Vitamin B3 + Zinc Serum
The unsung hero of antioxidants is niacinamde. Everyone talks about vitamin C to help uneven skin tone and prevent the signs of aging, but many people can’t even tolerate it. Over the years, I’ve had more and more clients come to me with skin sensitivities and rosacea that are looking for gentle alternatives to target their skin concerns. I’ve also had many clients in their late thirties or early forties still struggling with breakouts, and wanting to support their skin as it ages. This is where niacinamide shines. Consonant Vitamin B3 + Zinc Serum combines the benefits of niacinamide with zinc for additional calming and soothing properties.
Hot tip: Use this in the morning under your moisturizer to help balance oils and calm inflammation.
Apoterra Rose Essential Hydration Mist
Once you start using a mist (aka toner) it’s hard to go back! One of the primary benefits a mist can serve is hydration. It’s the first layer after cleansing and before serums. When I choose a mist, I often look for one that not only uses calming ingredients, like rose hydrosol, but also humectant ingredients. Humectants help the skin draw moisture to itself and give mists an extra boost. They are like the gift that keeps on giving. I love that the Apoterra Rose Essential Hydration Mist contains hyaluronic acid and aloe vera to keep skin hydrated, while rose, frankincense, and rooibos tea calm and protect skin.
Humble Deodorant
I remember vividly the first time I tried natural deodorant. It was a smelly disaster and I really wanted to go running back to my tried and true antiperspirant. That is until I stuck with it and let my body detox from years of using antiperspirant. I’ve used every form of natural deodorant, but nothing beats the convenience of a stick. Humble Deodorant works like a charm for me. It’s easy to apply, not too thick that it sticks to my clothes, and smells great! I’m in love with the Palo Santo & Frankincense scent but there are so many to choose from!
Cherry Blossom Konjac Sponge
A few years ago, I was working with a skincare brand and training their retail partners. The brand had a sponge that had been sitting on the retailer’s shelf for years. When I asked why, they said they didn’t know what it was. If you’ve ever seen a konjac sponge, you’ll notice that it looks like a hard and shriveled lump. Once soaked in water, which is what I showed these retail partners, you’ll see it becomes the softest, squishiest sponge you’ve ever felt. Once you try using a konjac sponge you won’t want to cleanse any other way! It gently exfoliates, while getting rid of all makeup, dirt and grime.
Three Ships First Light Eye Cream or Dew Drops Serum
Both of these are hero products and you can’t go wrong with either one.
When it comes to dark circles, not much can be done if it’s due to an internal issue or lack of sleep, except for a good concealer! One ingredient that can be extremely helpful to reduce puffiness and help dark circles is caffeine. Topically applied caffeine acts as a vasoconstrictor, limiting blood flow and reduces swelling under the eyes. The Three Ships First Light Eye Cream uses not only caffeine but has the most cooling ceramic applicator tip which feels amazing!
The Three Ships Dew Drops is a hydrating serum I keep coming back to as a quick fix for dehydrated skin. I also love the texture. Many hydration serums feel like water on the skin, but Dew Drops Serum has a jelly texture which I find many people enjoy, especially if they are new to serums. Dew Drops Serum makes a great beginner serum. It’s a good price point that offers quick results.
