Things are feeling a little, (okay, very) strange right now, and don’t be too hard on yourself if you have no idea how to feel. If your mood seems to change from one day to the next, if you feel angry, then feel guilty the next minute for feeling angry, or sad, or scared, it’s all okay.
You are only human and dealing with a totally unexpected event that is truly out of your control.
Since so many of us are spending time at home all day every day, it can be easy to get lost in the whirlwind of terrifying emotions and thoughts, to the point where it can completely dictate how your day unfolds.
While it’s okay to embrace your emotions in all their messy glory, we also want you to find some peace and calm amidst the chaos, you deserve it!
In this post, we will share just three ways you can support yourself mentally, emotionally, and physically during this stressful time or any stressful time for that matter!
Turn Off the News
You may want to check the news every now and again to stay updated with the latest, but you don’t need to have the news turned on all day.
Even if you don’t think it’s affecting you, even if you aren’t really paying attention, those headlines are seeping into your subconscious where they will manifest as anxiety or cause those horrible dreams you may be having a little too frequently lately.
Try and stay away from the news if you can, instead of putting on some uplifting tunes as the perfect backdrop to your day.
Get Sweaty
Nothing is better than a sweat fest to release pent up adrenaline and boost your mood when you are feeling fatigued and low.
Aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity 3 times a week or make it a daily habit and go for a walk to get out of the house a bit and for the added bonus of fresh air.
This 7-minute yoga practice can also be practiced daily, first thing in the morning may help you start your day in the best way. Don’t forget to take some deep breaths!
Don’t Neglect Your Pampering Rituals
Don’t neglect taking care of yourself through those self love rituals you love so much. You need them now more than ever, and don’t you dare feel guilty for it!
You can’t be the best mom, friend, sister, or wife if you aren’t taking care of yourself first.
This beautiful bubble bath creates the best bubbles and essential oils of lavender and rosemary will help to melt your troubles away, at least for a little while.
Do Say Yes to Adaptogens
Adaptogens are herbal pharmaceuticals and our absolute favorite way to help the body manage stress when deep breathing and positive mantras are simply not enough.
They help to counteract the negative effects of cortisol (our body’s stress hormone) by building up in the body and releasing when our bodies need them the most.
Our Stress Fighter by Well Told Health contains 3 powerful adaptogenic mushrooms to mitigate the negative effects of stress on your body while giving your immune system a boost.
These tips are simple and easy to incorporate into your everyday life, but their benefits are powerful and will certainly go a long way in helping you to feel calmer and more at ease.
We are in this together, sending hugs from afar!
