A face mask is an excellent way to supercharge your skin when it’s in need of a little oomph, a little something extra.
We have all experienced skin that just seems dull, and no amount of lotion or even highlighter seems to perk it up.
This is when an antioxidant-rich face mask comes in to wake up and brighten your complexion, while infusing it with nutrients to fight free radicals and impart dewy moisture for skin that simply glows with a healthy radiance.
But who’s to say that you are only allowed to use one face mask at a time?

Keep reading to find out why using 2, or even 3, face masks at a time may be better for your skin!
What is multi-masking?
Multi masking involves using multiple face masks with different properties to target the different areas of your face.
It’s very rare to have oily or dry skin over your entire face, even the driest skin types will usually suffer from oil build-up and clogged pores on their nose, for example. Combination skin is a very common skin type, characterized by oily skin on the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin) and drier skin on the cheeks.
This type of skin can especially benefit from multi-masking, using a face mask to soak up oil on the oilier areas, and treating the rest of the skin to a shot of moisture.
Oilier skin areas
Epic Blend's Charcoal Face Mask is ideal for soaking up oil and absorbing toxins thanks to its natural detoxifying properties. Use this one on those oilier zones and get creative with the liquid you use to activate it!
If your skin is super sensitive you may prefer to stick to pure mineral water, otherwise, add honey for extra hydration and brightening or green tea for an antioxidant boost! You can also add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to really make it your own. Lavender is excellent for calming inflamed skin.
Do you struggle with texture?
Keep congestion and pollution-generated clogged pores at bay with Etymolgie's Niacinamide Brightening & Exfoliating Masque of active ingredients that can help target oil imbalances while providing gentle exfoliation. Smooth out bumps, reveal more radiant skin. Jojoba beads slough off keratin build up while niacinamide & vitamin C help brighten the skin.
Don't rely just on masking though. Consider your ingredients may be the culprit; generally, we say if you are prone to congestion, stay clear of butters.
Drier skin areas
For skin in need of a drink, you cannot go wrong with John Masters Organics Overnight Facial Mask. Creamy and comforting, this mask contains natural exfoliants, such as pomegranate enzymes and fruit acids to brighten and smooth your skin, promoting a luminous glow while fighting against aging free radicals.
Always be sure to follow up your mask with a lotion or serum to lock in the benefits and leave your skin silky smooth and protected.
